Music for Interviews
In an interview, music supports the atmosphere while the conversation holds the attention. Look for a sound that suits the subject and leaves space for speech.
Listen across pauses and changes of speaker
Test the music on a passage that includes different voices and pauses. A sudden beat or the arrival of a new instrument can draw attention away at the exact moment a speaker makes an important point.
The whole conversation may not need music
Sometimes music works best in the introduction, transitions and closing section. Try leaving the main conversation without a musical background and compare the result: pauses can help preserve the interview's natural rhythm.
